Open Call: Bring Your Own File

LI-MA is looking for new talent in media art: open call to submit your work.

Are you a digital and media artist primarily working in the Netherlands or the Caribbean? Or, do you have Dutch nationality or a strong connection to the Netherlands? Does your work deal with themes such as media and technology criticism, gender and identity, sustainability, or other local or emerging issues through the use of new technologies and innovative approaches?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, we want to hear from you!

LI-MA Presents: New Art on Screen

Starting in September 2024, LI-MA will tour the Netherlands. LI-MA Presents: New Art on Screen showcases the latest works added to our innovative video art collection in multiple cities around the country. At LI-MA we have a unique collection of digital artworks, spanning from classics to the latest experiments by both established and emerging artists.

Following each screening of new works from the LI-MA collection, we're hosting BYOF (Bring Your Own File) sessions. With Bring Your Own File, we build on the concept of Bring Your Own Beamer (the inclusive ‘open source exhibition concept’ conceived by artist Rafaël Rozendaal) by inviting participants to showcase all types of software-based art.

This is a fantastic opportunity to discuss your new work or work-in-progress in the context of an engaged and supportive community: our artistic team, partner organisations, experts, other artists, and the public.

Who are you?

Using the resources and network at our disposal, our aim is to nurture and amplify the work of young artists. We especially invite recent graduates and creators with an alternative or no training path from the region where the presentation will take place to apply. We are explicitly open to underrepresented art practices and themes.
