LI-MA is committed to making media art more accessible and visible, be it both iconic works and new experiments. As the only place in the Netherlands that systematically collects media art, LI-MA supports artists across their careers and draws on its extensive network to promote Dutch media art worldwide, putting artists on the map both nationally and internationally.

Working with LI-MA as an Artist or Curator

For artists, distribution means a route into a wider public while keeping the specific conditions their work depends on. Works are selected for the catalogue and actively brought to the attention of programmers and institutions, made available for exhibition, screening, broadcast, and streaming. LI-MA handles the practical and technical side (such as formats, rights, presentation requirements) and structures rental terms so that fees return to the artist.

For curators and programmers, the collection is a resource: single-channel video works are available for screening and exhibition on standard formats at fixed rates, while installations, broadcast, streaming and other presentation formats are handled through tailored solutions that account for equipment, planning, reconstruction, condition reports and transport. Short descriptions and promotional stills are available to support programming, with LI-MA credited as distributor.

LI-MA Presents

Alongside rental, LI-MA brings works to audiences directly through LI-MA Presents, its recurring screening series. Its main strand, New Art on Screen, pairs screenings with talks and artist Q&As, often under a guest curator, and runs both at LAB111 in Amsterdam and occasionally on tour to partner venues across the country.
