Performance: thinking through Event and Duration

The body, the object, the camera, the act: performance and media art are closely linked. The two disciplines react on each other and feed each other. On the third night of THE LIMA COLLECTION 2016, Frédérique Bergholtz and Susan Gibb (If I Can't Dance, I Don't Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution) will focus on performance as one of the recurrent themes within media art. Starting form performance theory, they will analyse and present works from the LIMA collection in which the performative plays an in important role.

The screening will present works from the seventies by, amongst others, Chris Burden and Ulrike Rosenbach and will be followed by a public interview with the Dutch artist Sef Peeters.
