On Wednesday, March 9, LIMA will open her 2016 screening series with a celebration of the new! A selection of new works by young and renowened artists from the LIMA collection will be screened in the presence of the artists. Next to al this, sound artist Mark IJzerman will perform live!

Mark IJzerman is a sound artist, composer & performer working with interactive and procedural sound. In his performances he works a lot with tape-recorders and self-built instruments, both analogue and digital. His works carry a strong organic quality. At LIMA, he will play a piece in which the visuals react to its sonic counterpart. With music created using field recordings and resonances recorded while traveling and stored on cassette tapes, visuals will be influenced, slowly uncovering itself like old 16mm film burning in reverse. This piece is realised in a collaboration between the artist, STEIM and FIBER, and will have its Dutch premiere at LIMA.
