On the occasion of the closure of the major anthological show Jan Fabre. Stigmata. Actions & Performances 1976-2013, at MAXXI, the museum will be celebrating the Flemish artist with a talk between the curator of the exhibition, Germano Celant, the artist Jan Fabre and the artistic director of the museum, Hou Hanru.

SBMK Day – Sound From The Lab
Praktijkervaringen staan centraal tijdens deze studiedag voor alle (aankomende) restauratoren, conservatoren, registrars, kunsthistorici en anderen die te maken hebben met conservering, documentatie, installatie en presentatie van moderne en hedendaagse kunst. Verschillende instrumenten en methodieken uit het hedendaagse conserveringslab komen aan de orde in de presentaties en werkgroepen. A visual artist and theatrical writer, Jan Fabre presents for the first time at MAXXI the actions and performances from the 1970s through to the present day: drawings, “thinking models”, collages, films, photos and documents that constitute the basis for a review of the dozens of performances and actions, both private and public, realised in Belgium and elsewhere.
